Let’s Shape the World with Our Writing

The premise of all writing is to bring forth something new, albeit uniquely creative, astute and worth perusing. Time being the biggest commodity of the current times, and the idea is to spend it on words evoking some new understanding of things, of ideas, of the world we live in. And with this thought, every writer starts with the idea of changing the world through the realm of her or his vision, and in all probability ends with the awareness her own limitations. To ponder, to wonder, to think, to feel something unique that millions before us have not felt or thought before us, or have at least not portrayed it as such, is a tall order. The preponderance of writing in all forms does not help either. The stream of ideas in an ever-changing world that now-a-days changes in nano seconds and as ideas become desolate in a matter of months if not days, poses more challenges than ever confronted before. Technology writing poses new challenges in staying relevant in the current times, the pace of technological change being so much faster than it was in the past. Creative writing has its own challenges in the subject. What can be new and hasn’t everything worth writing been written already? And yet new writings surprise and awaken us every day with the creation of new worlds and even genres. Things change but human vulnerabilities remain the same, the desire of humans to touch the sky remain the same and the need for friendships and connections would perhaps always remain the same. So, in that vein, let’s explore the journey of writing as it exists in its best form today, with all its challenges and with all the possibilities that it presents.
